Alex Vesia’s wife Kayla Vesia has returned to TikTok with an update since the couple announced the loss of their first baby together in November 2025.
On Friday, Jan. 2, Kayla shared an emotional video of herself “checking in” after she and the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, 29, made a joint statement revealing that their “beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th.”
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla began in the video, which was just over two minutes long.
In the clip, she sat solemnly facing the camera in her first post of 2026.
“Alex and I are just trying to get through it everyday. Every day’s so different for us right now and I don’t really have the words,” she said, noting that she normally shares a lot of their lives on social media.
“It just felt right to come on here and say ‘Thank you,’ ” she continued. “I am really grateful for the community of you guys, and just expressing your support and love towards us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.”
She and the MLB pro got married in January 2024 and announced in April 2025 that they were expecting a baby.
Just one day before the Dodgers played the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of the World Series, the Dodgers announced that Alex was stepping off the field as he and his wife “navigate a deeply personal family matter.”
At the time, neither shared any further details, but on Oct. 24, 2025, Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said in a statement, “We just didn’t want to have any potential for any kind of pressure.”
“This is so much bigger than baseball. For us, it was doing whatever small part we could to just 100% be supportive,” Friedman added, according to MLB.com.
On Friday, Kayla said she didn’t know what her “content is gonna look like going forward,” adding, “But I do want to share my journey.
“I don’t know how much I’m going to share. I don’t know. I don’t know the details of it, but I do know that I want to share, and if it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing, feel like they’re not alone,” she said.
Becoming emotional, she added, “I promise I will not be coming on here and crying. I don’t wanna come on here and cry. I don’t think that’s fun for anyone.”
Kayla noted that speaking to her followers is “a good outlet” in addition to her and Alex meeting with a therapist.

“Right now I don’t have a whole lot to say, just that I am really grateful for you guys in showing so much love and support for this during this time,” she said. “I don’t know what it’s gonna look like moving forward but I did just want to come on and check in with you guys, and the biggest thing, just say ‘Thank you.’”
She also said that prior to their loss, she was “prepared for everything.”
“I was prepared for whatever was gonna happen but I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home,” Kayla said.

“I don’t know what this year is gonna bring. I’ll slowly be getting back on here, but I love you guys, and that’s about it for right now,” Kayla said.
