Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei declared this week that the Strait of Hormuz, a gateway to some 20% of the world’s oil, would remain closed. Now, with gas prices spiking dramatically in the U.S. since the beginning of the war, the Trump administration is scrambling to defend against Iran’s most powerful weapon. NBC’s Brian Cheung reports in this week’s Sunday Focus.
